FAQ
What kind of wax do you use?
For our candles, we exclusively use premium soy wax. Soy wax is derived from soybean oil, making it a natural and renewable resource. Not only does soy wax burn cleaner and longer than traditional paraffin wax, but it also provides a more environmentally friendly option for candle lovers. With its smooth buttery texture and excellent fragrance-holding capabilities, soy wax ensures a luxurious and consistent burn, allowing you to fully enjoy the aromatic experience of our candles.
In contrast, our candle wax melts are made using a specialized coconut tarte wax. Derived from coconut oil, this unique wax blend offers exceptional scent throw and longevity, allowing you to enjoy hours of fragrance diffusion with each melt. The coconut tarte wax is specifically formulated for wax melts, ensuring optimal performance and maximum scent dispersion throughout your space.
What kind of wicks do you use?
At our candle studio, we take pride in offering you the finest quality candle wicks, meticulously crafted to elevate your candle experience. Among our selection, we offer a flat braided cotton wick with a special paper filament, engineered to deliver unparalleled performance and reliability.
Our flat braided cotton wick is carefully constructed to provide optimum capillary action, allowing for a steady and even burn from start to finish. The addition of a special paper filament enhances this capillary action, ensuring that the wick efficiently draws up melted wax to fuel the flame, resulting in a consistent and reliable burn every time.
One of the key benefits of our wick design is its ability to maintain a proper flame posture, even as the candle burns down. This means that the flame remains centered and at an optimal height, promoting efficient wax consumption while minimizing the need for frequent trimming.
In addition to our flat braided cotton wicks, we're thrilled to offer you the unique experience of our wood wick candles. Crafted with the same dedication to quality and excellence, our wood wick candles bring a touch of rustic charm and captivating ambiance to any space.
When lit, these special wicks produce a gentle crackling sound reminiscent of a cozy fireplace, adding an extra layer of warmth and comfort to your surroundings.
But the allure of our wood wick candles doesn't end there. Beyond their charming crackle, these wicks are designed to provide a clean and even burn, ensuring that you can enjoy hours of uninterrupted fragrance and illumination. Made from natural wood materials, our wicks are free from harmful additives, allowing you to indulge in the pure essence of our candles without worry.
How can I prolong the use of my candle?
1. Trim the Wick: Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This helps prevent excessive smoking and ensures a clean, even burn.
2. Burn Correctly: Allow your candle to create a full melt pool each time you light it. This means letting the wax melt all the way to the edges of the container. This prevents tunneling and maximizes the fragrance throw.
3. Avoid Drafts: Keep your candle away from drafts, as they can cause uneven burning and lead to soot buildup. This includes air conditioning vents, fans, and open windows.
4. Burn in Sessions: It's best to burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. Extinguish the flame, let the wax cool and solidify, then trim the wick before relighting.
5. Keep the Wax Clean: Remove any debris or matches from the wax pool before relighting the candle. This prevents the wick from becoming clogged and ensures a clean burn.
6. Store Properly: When not in use, store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This helps preserve the fragrance and prevents the wax from melting prematurely.
Can I exchange a candle, if I don't like the fragrance?
At this time, we do not offer exchanges on candle fragrances. If your candle arrives defective or broken, will can offer a replacement or refund.
What is the black build up on my wick?
The black residue that forms on candle wicks is typically referred to as "carbon buildup" or "wick mushrooming." It's a natural occurrence that happens as the wick burns and carbonizes, especially with cotton wicks.
To minimize carbon buildup and ensure a clean burn, it's essential to trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each use. Trimming the wick helps remove excess carbon and promotes a more efficient burn.
